In this paper we present CloudFIT, a PaaS middleware that allows the creation of private clouds at the proximity of the demanding IoT devices. Using a P2P overlay, CloudFIT offers both storage and computing capabilities on top of pervasive networks. We illustrate the usage of CloudFIT through the deployment of a MapReduce application and the comparative performance analysis with Hadoop. Indeed, we demonstrate that CloudFIT offers performance levels similar to those of Hadoop but with a better support for dynamic and heterogeneous environments.
