Discussions and readings by noted North Carolinians and other authors are scheduled several times during the year. Held in partnership with the library, the FOL shares funding for these programs, provides light refreshments, and helps with publicity. In addition, the library, in partnership with the Friends, schedules programs of interest for adults, teens, and children. From the ”Scaremongers” Halloween program to a Poetry Jam for local teens, special programs are very much a part of the library. The Friends provide funds to help cover the costs for these programs.
